1 facial massage you have to do each day

People often ask me what Face Yoga technique I would choose if I could only do one, and that’s what I want to share with you in this post. It’s my favourite facial massage and is a simple and easy one that anyone can enjoy.

Like any form of exercise or wellness habit, Face Yoga works best when you do it regularly. But that doesn’t mean you necessarily need to make a huge time commitment each day. Small habits build up over time, so if you’re just getting started with Face Yoga or are short on time, I suggest just spending a minute or so doing this technique.

As always with Face Yoga, start with a clean face and clean hands. Apply your skincare first. For Face Yoga and facial massage, I always recommend the Fusion by Danielle Collins Moisturising Serum, which you can find in my shop.

This serum was specially formulated for use with Face Yoga. It is non-greasy and deeply nourishing for your skin, but it doesn’t absorb as quickly as some serums, giving you the lovely glide you need to move your hands over your face without dragging at the delicate skin.

You can layer the serum under your regular moisturiser, but it also works well on its own. It contains plenty of high-performing botanical seed oils that penetrate into the middle layer of the skin, the dermis, deeply nourishing and hydrating your skin cells.

Once you’ve applied your serum, you are ready to start. You might want to sit in front of a mirror so that you can see what you’re doing.

FACIAL MASSAGE: TAPPING

Using all the fingers on both hands, start to tap all over the skin of your neck. This simple technique is brilliant for waking up the skin. It helps to boost blood circulation, which in turn brings plenty of fresh oxygen and nutrients up to your skin cells.

Keep on tapping as you move your hands up to your jaw area and move back and forth over your chin and jawline.

As well as boosting the circulation, this massage technique is great for releasing any tension or tightness in the muscles of our faces. Many of us hold a lot of emotion in our faces, especially in the jaw area, so this helps us relax the muscles and let go of stress.

The tapping also encourages your skincare products to penetrate a little bit deeper into your skin.

Next, come up to the cheek area, followed by over and under your lips. Continue to tap under your eyes and then over your temples, stimulating the acupressure points found here.

Finally, move over the forehead area to release tension and tightness. Most of us overuse the big muscle in our foreheads, the frontalis muscle, when we express, which can lead to lines and wrinkles. The tapping helps to relax the muscle and prevent those lines from forming.

Now, work your way back down your face in reverse order, going over the temples, below your eyes, over the cheeks, around the mouth, over the jaw, and back down over your neck.

DONE!

This simple technique brings so many benefits to our skin and leaves our faces feeling relaxed, brightened, and energised.
